following time bound assignment for its Central Library.
Name of the Assignment: Library Professional Trainee
No. of positions: 03 (Three)
Period of Training: Purely on temporary basis for Two years (on annual renewal basis subject to satisfactory performance)

Garfield Research Fellowship
promotes and supports research on topics in the history of information
science. The $5000 fellowship, established in 2013, is to be used for
research-related purposes regarding the history of information science to
increase the underlying knowledgebase in this area and enhance the current
and future practice of the information professions, particularly health
sciences librarianship. Health sciences librarians and information
scientists, health professionals, researchers, educators, and
administrators are eligible. Applicants must have a master's or doctor's
degree or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree and demonstrate
a commitment to the health sciences. The fellowship is not designed to
support research for a doctoral dissertation or master's thesis.
The award is not restricted to disbursement in a single year and funding
may be disbursed over a period of up to two years depending on the needs of
the research fellow. The award may be used to supplement or extend other
awards, including other private or government-supported fellowships, but is

National Insurance Academy conducts training, research, publications and consultancy in Insurance and related areas. Academy is also building on an insurance education tradition begun in 2004.
The Academy invites applications for purely temporary post of “Library Trainee” on consolidated payment of Rs.10,000/‐ per month.

ADAPT (Formerly The Spastics Society of India), Mumbai is looking for a dedicated and customer-focused individual for the position of Senior Librarian.
The candidates applying for the post should have a Master’s Degree in Library Science (or equivalent) with 5 years of experience in a College’s / Institution’s library. It will be desirable if the candidate has experience of recent advances in library operations, digitization and knowledge management.
This position will entail:
• Connecting readers with library, community resources and services provided by ADAPT
• Management of (a) the planning, administrative and budgetary functions of a library and (b) information services
• Provision of effective access to ADAPT’s library collections and resources
• Having a detailed understanding and practical ability of utilizing the ‘Greenstone’ platform
• Using automated information systems, databases and other technology for a range of processing and service-related tasks
• Maintaining collections using established procedures and systems
• Possessing the ability to provide direct services to both, on-site and off-site readers
• Assisting with other library activities and promotion activities
• Assisting in ADAPT’s research activities
The position is based in Mumbai and the selected candidate can be expected to work at all branches. Retired librarians with a passion for working in the social sector are also encouraged to apply to this position.
